Alternatives to the Projection Mapping
Eurovision 2nd Semi-Final Opening Sequence 2013The opening sequence 2nd Semi Final of the Eurovision song contest in 2013 is one that really impressed me and is one of those videos that I keep coming to over and over. Although this to a point is still a projection mapping, adding the human element and dancing is always a fresh idea as it keeps people more entertained than just seeing visuals. And this is something that I believe will give the school's projection mapping a bit of a twist, unexpected as well as interaction and reactions from the audience.

V Motion ProjectThe V Motion Project is one great experience that is a great breakthrough in technology, innovation and dancing! Making music from movement, the V motion project is made up by a number of teams all focusing on individual sectors such as music, visuals, programming, choreography and more. The teams went through a lot of lengths developing this project, especially when it came to 'hack' both software's of Ableton live and the Kinect. However, with a lot of time and full focus they managed to create a great project, one which a lot of people are talking about. Although this, unfortunately, is a little bit out of our league due to the man power, resources and lack of time, we can still might manipulate the visuals from the Kinect.

Beyonce - Run the WorldThis performance is simply great by renowned performer, Beyoncé. Not only does the performance has powerful music, the visuals are well synced with the choreography and project the powerful beats of the music as well as the dancing. This shows that there was a lot of practice and proper planning with Beyoncé being synced with the visuals, creating an amazing projection mapping performance which people really liked. This was also one of the most explosive performance that has been at the Billboard Awards for a long time and this was quite an innovative performance. If we manage to properly plan with the dancers, I'm sure we could pull something similar off.

Coca-Cola: The Dancing Vending MachineEveryone loves something free, especially when that something free is the world renowned drink - Coca Cola. Putting a 'Dancing Machine' in a shopping mall, Coca Cola created a machine which shows various dance moves that people need to perform. Armed with the Kinect and special software to read all the moves, people are invited to walk up to the machine and replicate the dance moves on screen. If they manage to do them flawlessly, they would get a free bottle of Coca Cola, which made a huge hit. To create something similar for the exhibition would be a great achievement at the school, especially on such a major scale.

Flow 1 & Freelusion Interactive Dance ShowMajestic, soothing, slow paced and very abstract visuals, Flow 1 is an amazing experience that has been produced with syncing the visuals, dancing and sound altogether thanks to the Kinect, creative planning, sound and visual designers. It is amazing how many projects similar to these are out there but each and everyone have their own personal flair, excitement and story.

Although these have been exploited over and over again abroad, in Malta we haven't seen anything of the sort so far, thus we would be the first to do such a thing on a very big scale, which would put MCAST on the map and this year's exhibition one to remember.

Black SunThe Black Sun is claimed to be one of the very first of it's kind when it comes to syncing dancing, visuals and music altogether while everything after it is a replica. If this is true or not, it still has it's own finesse, creativity and story. Having various aspects and different paces throughout, this makes a performance very memorable as well as eye catching. The slow motion is timed perfectly
