Omicron
Good Design or Not?!
Sometimes the simplest a design is, the better it shows. In my opinion, this projection mapping is one of best categorized under good design.
Art and Design Principles
It is made up of very simple geometrical designs, however very creatively used I must say. These creative designs bring out the whole building revealing it bit by bit and giving the audience an ultimate experience of how this an be evolved. The music is very well synchronized, and although the beat might be the same at times, it still makes the audience want to watch more.
Elements of Design
As I mentioned before, 'Omicron' is made out of different and creative geometrical shapes in 2D, which evolve as the music goes along. The geometrical designs are bright white and sometimes it uses some opacity.
Formal Qualities
'Omicron' is basically made out of patterns, patterns from the geometrical designs mentioned previously. In my opinion it was very entertaining for me watching in on youtube, therefore I can imagine the audiences' reaction which was present watching 'Omicron' live in front of their eyes.
Form
I noticed that it the geometrical designs and patterns were quite symmetrical, although the building itself is roundish and symmetrical.

Rendez - Vous Bundesplatz
Good Design or Not?!
In contrast with the previous example, this projection mapping, is not quite simple in regards with design since it uses more detailed patterns. Despite this, it still makes a good composition.
Art and Design Principles
It is made up of different styles of textures were some are realistic and some are not. At some point when the scenes switch, one can see a very different design which still relates to the theme. (ie. from realistic elements to digital linear patterns and forms)
Elements of Design
Unlike the previous projection mapping mentioned before, this one consists literally the contrary. It uses very bright colours which vary all the time and also different colors are used since different themes are included. Videos of realistic individuals are also used and also the digital 3D building looks quite realistic.
Formal Qualities
I noticed that the projection mapping is narrative, it is telling a story, maybe a traditional one, showing different aspects of the country. Additionally, sometimes it is the visuals are slow while sometimes the rhythm gets faster. It is also very well syncronised with the audio including voice overs.
Form
This is the kind of projection mapping that consists of a variety of elements and "mixed media" as in it uses both 2D and 3D. Sometimes it uses realistic elements and sometimes not, and also the building is not always used as a whole building, but for certain scenes only a small part of the building was used. I also noticed vehicles passing infront of the building which annoyed me as it interferes with the projection, although maybe these only showed from where the video was taken.

Battle of Branchage
Good Design or Not?!
'Battle of Branchage' shows a different composition. It also uses a variety of techniques and styles, from realistic to abstract, which in my opinion they really compliment with one another as contrasting elements.
Art and Design Principles
It uses different textures matching with the styles being used such as mentioned before realistic and abstract. The abstract makes it look more entertaining. I like the way how it reveals the building bit by bit and increasingly showing more animation into it to reveal more parts of the building. I also like the way it transitions from different themes of the scenes as it looks very flowing.
Elements of Design
It is made up of very bright colours which really complement the animation style being used. The elements used such as shadows and lighting, are quite 'realistic' and bravely implemented. Every element matches the animation path developed on the building like 00:34, when the long cylinders start going in and out of the windows, it looks quite realistic. And obviously, shadows and highlights help to make elements look realistic.
Formal Qualities
Battle of Branchage shows no real story in it, it practically based on synchronising music with visuals, which in my opinion, both mediums are combined and developed perfectly. Additionally, it is geometrically designed and makes use of simple shapes and forms.
Form
I believe that these such forms are 3D implemented, or if so is not true, than it uses a 2D technique with high quality shadows and highlights showing depth. Furthermore, I noticed that sometimes only parts of the building was used, then 'search lights' were revealing other parts when the rhythm was increasing.

Palnoise
Good Design or Not?!
In contrast with the previous example, 'Palnoise' really uses the whole architectural elements of the building. The theme is technologic.
Art and Design Principles
The technique used at 3:45, bulging parts of the building, really complements with the whole theme and it is not usually seen in other projections. Additionally, the technique at 04:03 used looks like it transformed into an underwater scene which looks simple and achievable. 'Palnoise' includes a little humour in it when at the end it shows a tetris game. pulsating parts of the building
Elements of Design
'Palnoise' uses linear forms and geometrical patterns outlining the building. It also shows bright colours but especially a white uv like strokes which stand out. A red laser floating vertically reveals the laser and the way it is implemented it looks quite realistic. Additionally, the bright colours used such as for the tetris game part, are bright and clearly outstanding.
Formal Qualities
'Palnoise' uses visual techniques synchronised with music. It focusses on digital elements especially when it shows a tetris game which is a traditional game. The style used is complimentary throughout the animation even when at 01:20 the scene changes into a constructional site and uses cranes and high-ups.
Form
In my opinion, this is one of the best projection mapping projects since it is made up of simple and basic techniques which I believe that can be implemented with a majority of themes. The way the transitions were implemented, make the projection flowing throughout.
