Ralph Lauren 4D Experience
A video shown by our tutor, Mr. Paul Camilleri. This projection mapping was mind blowing right from the start till the very end. The most striking thing about this projection was the mixed media used such as 2D, 3D, Moving Image and Sound. Having these elements in the projection shows variety just like the Ralph Lauren fashion line where it has both for men and women and all different types of accessories.
The projection is very inspiring as they use bright colours throughout, very good compositions to emphasise on the object or person, very good scene transitions which all helped create a smoothing and flowing projection mapping. Ralph Lauren 4D Experience - The Making Of
The Making of Ralph Lauren was, personally, even more interesting than the projection mapping as one learns and admires the on going processes of what the companies went through to make this projection possible.
Tokyo Station Vision
This architectural mapping was shown to us by Mr. Francantonio Cauchi. What I really liked about this, as Mr. Cauchi pointed out, was that you always feel that you're in a train station environment.
Flashing lights, fast movements, swiping tickets, hand rails and underground maps were all present in the projection mapping to show the audience that the building has to do with trains, which personally, is an essential thing to show what the building and the area is all about. Personally, the best part of this mapping is when they manipulated the building to play the instruments as it gives the building a life on its own. 3D Mapping on a Transparent Jaguar Car
This mapping is highly innovative as it is being projected on a car created from acrylic rather than the normal architecture mapping. Jaguar had to build a car specially for this mapping, which goes to show that if you think it, it can be done as that is the basis of innovation. Throughout the projection, it does show that they kept in mind all the motions of the car, representing the company by having a Jaguar running as well as various colours, lines and motions going at a fast pace showing what the Jaguar is capable of.
Mr.Beam - Living Room Projection
What are you supposed to do with a simple white living room? Clean it? Live in it? Or create multiple themes and project them on the objects? Yes, that sounds about right! Mr.Beam is a mapping installation where textures and maps are projected onto particular items such as a sofa, cushions, frames, lamps and more. The creators created various themes to accustom various age groups, from childish themes to hard rock metal theme. It does show that they did a lot of research to have good colour schemes for the appropriate themes.
Nokia Lumia Promotion Projection
Bigger IS Better! Nokia UK together with Drive Productions, created this pumped up projection in the streets of London for the Nokia Lumia promotion. Together with Deadmau5, for playback music, they managed to create a HUGE projection mapping on the Millbank Tower in London. The building chosen was adequate as it has the same shape of the Nokia Lumia a
Nokia Lumia Promotion Projection - Making Of
The making of this projection mapping was very interesting and informative to watch. The company had a lot of obstacles to overcome such as taking up the projectors in a building with no elevator, covering all the windows of the skyscraper with appropriate material, using mixed media and many more.
It's a good way to get an understanding of problem solving ideas as I'm sure we'll run into similar problems ourselves during this project. Halloween Light Show 2013 - The FoxAlthough this isn't a projection mapping, it is still very effective as a light show as the syncing with the music is flawless as well as the colours chosen are quite pleasing.
The faces, although quite rigid, are very suitable for the Halloween season as well as the little ghosts in the courtyard. |
