Barba Management
As the only Member of the Management Team, I had the role of taking care the deadlines for the Barba group were being met. Apart from this, I had to send emails to look for sponsors, come up with a system of how communication would work between departments, classes, tutors and administration, an estimated budget, work flow and distribution of work.
Communication
The images below show how communication between departments, classes, tutors and the administration would be ideal, or something on a similar line.
Distribution of Work
Exhibition
The exhibition will need to be separated in the following department with about 22 students::
Advertising & Marketing (5) - Taking care of promoting the exhibition with innovative advertising & marketing strategies. Would need to design posters, flyers, leaflets, booklets, merchandise and take care of innovative promotions
Branding (5) - To create the Brand Guidelines, the logos, templates for a way-finding system, presentations & mission statement
Construction (10) - To take care of the exhibition space for both the class as well as certain common areas of the school such as the entrance, way-finding system implementation, materials that would be needed for the signs,
Management (2) - Taking care of the day-to-day queries for every department and making sure that things are running smoothly, deadlines are being met, Updating the MCAST Facebook Page with Photos & Videos, Sponsor Meetings, Attendance
Projection Mapping
The projection mapping will need the following team members with about 20 students:
2D Animators (5) - These will take care of all 2D Animations as well as Compositing all of the animations in the appropriate scenes. These animators need to have a solid background of After Effects, Premiere and a good understanding of Video Formats & Terminology.
3D Animators (5) - These will take care of any 3D Animatiors and Rendering that needs to be done. These need to have a solid background in 3D Programs such as 3D Studio Max & Maya.
Concept Art & Storyboard (7) - These members need to be well equipped with drawing skills and have a good knowledge of Photoshop and Illustrator to create the necessary artwork and come up with an art style. It is ideal that some of these artists are capable of knowing basics of After Effects to help the 2D animators in case of any mishaps or unforeseen problems.
Management (1-2) - These need to be in charge of making sure that the deadlines are being met, creating back ups, rendering out the final scenes as well as create templates for the appropriate After Effects file, and Facade template. These would be ideal if they are capable of doing Concept Art, Storyboarding, 2D or 3D Animations as they won't be so heavily burdened with work.
Programming (1-2) - If needed, the programmers will take care of anything related that needs to be programmed. In BARBA's projection mapping proposal, there is no need of such a department, but we're still thinking of other concepts that might come up during the projection mapping selection.
What can other Courses do for the Exhibition?
Media Students - Taking care of the Behind the Scene snippet videos, Viral Videos, Filming around the school
Photography Students - Taking appropriate photos and details of students working on the exhibition to be published on the MCAST Art & Design Facebook Page
Graphic Design Students - Create a booklet about the whole exhibition, showing all the processes and progress as well as highlights from the opening night.
3D & Interior Students - Helping out in determining the space of the exhibition as well choosing the appropriate materials for the signs of the way finding system
Interactive Media Students - Create an app for the MCAST Art & Design Facebook Page or else for the Tablet/Mobile which will have relevant information about the exhibition as well as the dates and times of when it will be open
These courses will be in contact with the Management Department of the Exhibition so they will forward the work that they would produce. Also the Advertising, Branding & Marketing departments will give opinions, suggestions and so on to the appropriate courses depending on the work that needs to be done while sticking to the Brand Guidelines.
