The Idea:
Our main Idea behind our manifesto is to do something fun and light hearted which we feels best represents our ideals as a group.
We bounced around many ideas, from ourselves as superheros, illustrated backgrounds with us super imposed over it, pinatas, book covers ect... The one we settled on is "The Wheel of Fortune" that expanded to include a deck of Artist Tarot Cards that depending how you draw them reveal your "Art" fortune. |

Building the Wheel!
Building the wheel was actually pretty fun & not as hard as we thought. Once we had the resources and planned it out it didn't take us long to get things done. Thanks to the wood workshop it was cut & all we had to do was paint it and put it together. It took less then a week to complete but we are all happy with the out come. Below is a slide show of the wheel coming to life.
Old Concepts, Sketches and W.I.P
How it Works!
Step 1: Spin the Wheel. Let it stop on a colour.
Step 2: Pick one card that is the matching colour on the wheel.
Step 3: Look at the poster to see your fortune and mantra. Card meanings vary if upside-down or right-side up.
Since our cards are like "Tarot Cards" we gave them all meaning. We designed a poster that has all the cards on display and explains what they mean. They basically say the pros and cons of the art & design industry with Mantras at the back to help motivate.
Each card is placed in a color code that matches those on the wheel & each colored section is done by one of the 5 of us.
Because of the size of the poster, below is a downloadable PDF with all the written meaning of the cards.

The Cards
Below are all our cards. We each had 3, so the first 3 belong to Silvio, the next 3 to Michela, Rebecca B. Cardona, Fleur and Rebecca Barry. Each card is made with a unique style and story and depicts our tastes and skills as designers. Through the cards we managed to make something as a team but by still staying unique and showing our own individual skills. A fun factor about our cards is we are in them, be it by initials or portrait we left our mark in our cards.

End Result
The wheel was finally finished, the cards were printed and everything worked. To our surprised students, (not just our class mates) gathered around to use the wheel and see the cards. It generated quite a lot of hype and people had fun reading the meaning, spinning the wheel and just seeing what card they'll get! Over all we feel as if our manifesto was a huge success.
Thanks for seeing our manifesto page ~ May fortune forever be in your favour ~
