Before starting my research, I decided to focus and find examples of various exhibitions’, which included interactivity, as I believe it is something we need to include in our exhibition in order to attract and entice the visitors.
Ideas that could be implemented in the MCAST Exhibition
Through the Looking Glass
This exhibition was done in 2008 for a Graduate Exhibition and included and interactive display in the Rootstein Hopkins Space.
The exhibition featured the work of each graduation student, however with a twist, rather then having a stand for students, portraying their work, each student within this exhibition had a special card which were printed and displayed on shelves. All the work was arranged and separated by course allowing viewers to distinguish the work. Visitors could choose a card from the shelves and place them on an interactive table, allowing them to view more work done by each student, obviously depending on the chosen card.
This is a good idea as it allows the visitors to see more then one piece of work done by each student, as this idea allows them to display a vast number of work.

Museum Design Gets Interactive
With a professional, creative staff of project managers, estimators, researchers, graphic technicians, builders, artisans, and installers, we are dedicated to producing state-of-the-art museum exhibit experiences,” – 1220 Exhibits senior vice president Craig Dunn.
The exhibition includes four-dimensional theater displays and interactive touch screen. This was done, as Gallagher & Associates believe that nowadays people are looking and expecting an authentic experience in museums and exhibitions and they consider the addition of interactivity and media as a means to enhance the authenticity and engagement.
Apart from a four-dimensional theater, the exhibition included an interactive application, which we could include in our MCAST exhibition. The exhibition included an interactive application known as image recognition. This allows the viewer to scan the object on display using their smart phone or tablet and more information regarding the object will be uploaded on their device. This could be a useful idea for our exhibition due to the fact that the school lacks space and each student can only exhibit one work. This would allow each student the ability to show more work and information about their work and their contacts and interests.

35, 3D Interactive Paintings: Hanggzhoue Peace Internation Exhibition
These 3D interactive paintings were done for the Hanggzhoue Peace Internation Exhibtion in China. The exhibition includes 35 interactive painting or different animals, people and objects, people are encouraged to touch, sit on and interact as much as possible with the exhibits on show. Even though this theme doesn’t match any of the work at MCAST that is usually exhibited, the idea can still be taken into consideration and we can opt whether or not to create something interactive, which is digitally or printed. Either way people will be more involved and will surely have an authentic experience.
