Before starting my research, I decided to focus and find examples of various exhibitions’, which included interactivity, as I believe it is something we need to include in our exhibition in order to attract and entice the visitors.
Colour Me _____ Exhibition
Concept
Unlike the previous exhibition examples, this particular exhibition doesn’t feature artist’s work, but features the work and collaboration of two artists; Andy J. Miller and Andrew Neyer.
The interactive exhibition simply features a 24ft black and white mural which included huge 5.5’ markers. Viewers could come and go, and were encouraged to use the huge markers to fill in the mural.
The concept is very simple yet it allowed viewers to interact with the art rather then to just watch it. Apart from being fun due to its interactivity, the exhibition was a success as people continued discussing the exhibition even after it had finished, as I found several blogs regarding the exhibition and the comments were quite positive. People also posted their experience with the exhibition and I think this is an important factor we should include in the MCAST exhibition.
From the comments blogged by the attending viewers I also found out that the markers had to be dipped in trays of paint, so the huge markers were probably made from foam. As for the murals, the artists used black acrylic to paint the black and white objects and everything was done free hand, as can be seen in the video bellow.

The purpose of the mural was not stated in any of the blogs or on the artists website. I personally think that the exhibition was done in order to see whether or not people would react to the childish theme of colouring books. I have seen people response through various videos posted on blogs as well as the video above, and people seem to have enjoyed this simple interactive project.
Location
Colour Me _____ exhibition has toured to various locations including Cincinnati at YES Gallery, Indianapolis at the Indianapolis Museum of Contemporary Art, Columbus Indiana at IUCA+D, and to New York City in collaboration with the "Draw Something 2" launch party by Zynga.
