When my work in 3D was ready I was asked to review all the video shots taken and form a shot making of to be shown on the programme TVAM. I prepared an excel sheet and divided it into 4 sections, file name, what the file included, the timings which have good material to be used and a colour section. In this section I filled in the box with red, green or yellow colours. Red was used for clips which should not be used, yellow for clips which are average and are to be used only if needed and green are the best clips. The reason for this task was because the idea was to film a long making of, so the students editing the video will find it easy to look up clips, working more efficiently. I was also asked to prepare a 2-minute clip to be shown during the TVAM program. I chose clips, which in combination with each other portrayed the story of how we went about the projection. I included working on site, talks, meetings, sketches and the clips for presentation amongst others. These are short and frequent but gave enough information to get the audience excited. Premier was used to produce this clip.
Evaluation:
This was a very time consuming task since I had over 100 clips to view and label. In addition to this I had to finish up the final product overnight since the clip needed to be approved a day before going live. Considering the time I had I believe I did a good job, it would have been ideal if I was part of the team from the very start to be able to track what was being shot and discuss the common problems. This is because many clips couldn’t be used because either the videographer was moving a lot or shot scenes with tables full of garbage or also unfocused scenes.
As a team there should have been set a deadline to the short clip of the making of because due to the lack of time I couldn’t plan my work with the audio team. If I had the audio beforehand I would utilize the beats to transition between shots.
