Tornado 3D Projection Mapping Show (Jumeirah Beach Hotel - Dubai) Tornado 3D Projection Mapping Show is a 3D projection mapping show that was held at Dubai to promote Tornado Energy Drink. In my opinion it falls under the category of a good design because of the colors used, how it is made, the music, textures. The design was a third-dimensional animation, which was very simple, but it really catches the eye with bright colors. The fact that they created their old building to project their animation on, was a good advantage since it was all in a solid light color, and it is easier to project something on a solid wall with light color and without any natural textures, windows or doors. They created their own textures of the building trough design. Also there were no repetitive scenes and each scene wasn’t too long that makes the audience getting bored of looking at it. It is an entertaining projection, which keeps you thinking about what is going to happen next. The music used also fitted well with the animation and it gives you a good lively feeling which in my opinion it can mean to give the audience the same good energy that their drink can give them. Also the advert part was done very good. It is easy to understand and to send your message, which in this case is to promote their energy drink. Tokyo Station Building Projection Mapping 2012 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IB12OtHwQ0o This projection mapping is one of the most projection mappings I liked and enjoyed watching the most. It is also a 3D animation, which is very detailed. The sound effects and background music are exactly in synchronization with the movement of the animation itself. I really enjoyed the part where the buildings started to jump exactly with the music and after the windows started to flash. Also the part where musical instruments where projected and played along with the music was really original and again really in time with the music, especially the snare drums. The use of texture was also very good. There was a difference from the building’s wall texture which looked like bricks, rather then the texture of the instruments especially on the trumpets which looked shiny and glossy. After the instrument part which was mostly made of dark colors, they took us into another scene which it was more colorful and also the music was more relaxing which makes you forget about the previous scene and puts you (the viewer) in a different world. The scene after was also something different. Its layout had a symmetrical layout of different lines and patterns such as triangles, which again after a few seconds, the scene got ripped out, and another type of music was being played with another animation scene in sync with that type of music. The only drawback they had during this projection mapping was that the building behind it was still with the lights on and it affected a little bit their project since in some times it looks like it’s part of the same building where the projection mapping is being held.
